Since
2003, with the support of the French regional authority of Provence
Alpes Côte d’Azur, an educational outreach service has been involved in
encouraging young Alexandrians to learn about and take an interest in
the rich heritage of their town. Thus, in April 2007, the pupils of
Champollion School in Alexandria became, for a few days, genuine
archaeologists in the yard of their very own school where they joined a
“real mock” excavation organised by those who do that work as a
profession, the members of the Centre d’Etudes Alexandrines. The film
follows this exciting adventure from the preparation of dig site until
the final results.
